Glendale Pirates Football 16-38 Mohawk

Mohawk handed Glendale a 38-16 defeat in a non-league football game Friday night, dropping the Skyline League (1A) Glendale Timber Devils to 1-1 on the season at Voigt Field in Glendale, Oregon. The visiting Chiefs controlled much of the contest, building a lead that Glendale could not overcome despite finding the end zone twice on the night. The Timber Devils entered the game riding momentum from a season-opening win, but Mohawk proved a stiff test, winning by 22 points and exposing areas the Glendale program will look to tighten up as league play approaches. The loss stings, but one non-league setback does not derail a season, and Glendale's coaching staff will have film to work with heading into next week. The Timber Devils will have a short turnaround to regroup, refocus, and return to the standard they set in week one. Skyline League competition is on the horizon, and Glendale will want to carry a sharp edge into those games.
