Oakland Oakers Girls Volleyball 3-1 Elkton

Oakland's girls volleyball team picked up a solid non-league victory Saturday, defeating Elkton 3-1 at home to improve to 7-10 on the season. The Oakers, representing Oakland, Oregon in the Sunset Conference (2A), controlled enough of the match to earn a four-set decision over the visiting Elks. The win provides a welcome boost for a team working to build momentum in the back half of its fall schedule. Oakland sits at 2-5 in Sunset Conference play, meaning every non-league result helps with overall confidence heading into the final stretch of the regular season. Earning a win at home against a county neighbor like Elkton carries some extra meaning for a squad that has fought through a challenging year. With the postseason approaching, Saturday's result serves as a reminder that this group is capable of putting together complete performances when it counts. Oakland will look to carry that confidence into its upcoming schedule in the weeks ahead.
