Roseburg Indians Football 22-30 Churchill

Churchill handed Roseburg its first loss of the football season Friday night, defeating the Indians 30-22 in a Southwest Conference (6A) road game in Eugene. The result drops Roseburg, Oregon's varsity squad to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in league play, putting a small dent in what had been a perfect start to the fall campaign. The Indians arrived at Churchill having won each of their first five games, and the Lancers proved a stiff challenge on their home turf, pulling away for the eight-point victory. Roseburg kept it competitive throughout, finding the end zone multiple times to make it a one-possession game deep into the contest, but Churchill's offense ultimately had enough answers to secure the win. While the unblemished record is gone, the Indians remain in a strong position within the Southwest Conference standings with several league games still to play. Roseburg will look to regroup and return to winning ways next Friday.
