Roseburg Indians Football 18-7 Ashland

Roseburg football knocked off Ashland 18-7 on Friday night to begin the 2026 season on a positive note. The Indians, representing Roseburg, Oregon, in the Southwest Conference (6A), hosted the Grizzlies in a non-league opener that gave head coach and staff their first real look at this year's squad under game conditions. Roseburg controlled enough of the contest to pull away with an 11-point margin, holding Ashland to a single score while the offense found the end zone three times. The defense deserves credit for keeping the Grizzlies in check for most of the evening, surrendering only seven points against a program that made the trip up from the Rogue Valley. It was not a perfect performance, as no season opener ever is, but the Indians showed enough discipline and execution to come away with the victory. Roseburg moves to 1-0 on the young season and will look to build on this momentum as Southwest Conference play approaches in the coming weeks.
