South Umpqua Lancers Baseball 1-4 Cascade Christian

A tough road trip to Medford didn't go as planned for South Umpqua baseball Thursday afternoon. The Lancers managed just one run in a 4-1 loss to Cascade Christian, dropping their record to 1-3 on the young season.
Facing the Challengers in non-league action, South Umpqua struggled to generate consistent offense throughout the contest. Cascade Christian built their advantage steadily, putting together enough timely hitting to control the game from the middle innings forward.
The Lancers have now dropped three of their first four games as they work to find their rhythm in the early weeks of the 2026 spring campaign. While the offense has shown flashes, putting runs on the board consistently remains a challenge that coach and players will need to address.
South Umpqua returns to action next week looking to bounce back and even their record. The season is still young, and there's plenty of time for the Lancers to turn things around as league play approaches on the horizon.
