Sutherlin Bulldogs Baseball 6-9 Myrtle Point

A promising road trip turned into a slugfest Saturday as Sutherlin baseball dropped a 9-6 decision to Myrtle Point in non-league action. The Bulldogs couldn't quite match their hosts' offensive output despite putting up six runs of their own in the high-scoring affair.
Sutherlin showed they could compete with the Bobcats, keeping pace for much of the contest before Myrtle Point pulled away late. The loss evens the Bulldogs' record at 1-1 to start the spring campaign.
While the final score stings, there were positive signs for Sutherlin in their ability to generate runs against a solid Myrtle Point squad. The Bulldogs proved they have the offensive firepower to hang with quality opponents, even on the road.
With non-league play continuing, Saturday's contest provided valuable experience against outside competition. Sutherlin will look to bounce back and return to .500 as they continue building toward league play. The Bulldogs have shown early flashes of potential in these opening weeks of the season.
