Sutherlin Bulldogs Baseball 8-14 South Umpqua / Days Creek

The Bulldogs couldn't keep pace with South Umpqua / Days Creek's offensive surge Friday afternoon, dropping an 14-8 baseball decision at home. Despite putting up eight runs, Sutherlin found themselves on the wrong end of a high-scoring affair that saw both teams combine for 22 runs.
The loss moves Sutherlin to 7-9 overall and 2-4 in conference play as the spring season enters its final stretch. While the Bulldogs showed they could generate offense against South Umpqua / Days Creek, defensive struggles and pitching challenges proved costly in the six-run defeat.
Friday's setback highlighted both the potential and the areas needing improvement for Sutherlin. The ability to score eight runs demonstrates the offensive capability is there, but containing opponents remains a work in progress.
With conference standings tightening, every remaining game carries added weight. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back and find the right combination of offensive production and defensive execution as they prepare for their next league matchup.
