South Umpqua Lancers Football 20-54 Sweet Home

Sweet Home pulled away decisively Friday night, defeating South Umpqua 54-20 in a South River League football game played in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. The visiting Huskies arrived with momentum and left little doubt, building a commanding lead that the Rams were unable to overcome on their home field. South Umpqua showed enough fight to reach 20 points, but the deficit proved too steep against a Sweet Home squad that controlled much of the evening. The loss drops the Rams to 3-6 overall and 1-5 in league play, a difficult stretch as the regular season winds toward its conclusion. With limited opportunities remaining, South Umpqua will look to finish strong and give its players, especially any seniors, a chance to close out the year with something to build on. The Rams will turn their attention to preparation this week as they get ready for their next matchup.
