Douglas Trojans Football 20-21 Siuslaw

It was a heartbreaker in Umpqua Valley on Friday night, as the Douglas Trojans fell just short in a tight battle with Siuslaw, dropping a 21-20 decision that will sting for a while. The Trojans came in riding a solid 4-1 record and looking to build momentum, but Siuslaw had other plans, edging out the one-point victory in what had to be one of the closer games of the season.

Douglas showed plenty of fight throughout the contest, keeping it competitive right down to the final whistle. A one-score game is never an easy pill to swallow, especially when the Trojans had the pieces in place to come out on the right side of it. Credit to Siuslaw for making just enough plays when it counted most.

The loss drops Douglas to 4-2 on the season, but there is still plenty of football left to play and the Trojans have proven they can compete with anyone in their schedule. The focus now shifts to bouncing back and getting things right before the next opportunity. Trojan fans, this one hurts, but the season is far from over.
