UVC Monarchs Softball 0-10 Union / Cove

Union/Cove's offense proved too much for Umpqua Valley Christian to handle Friday afternoon, as the visiting team rolled to a 10-0 victory in non-league softball action. The Monarchs were held scoreless throughout the contest, unable to generate sustained offensive momentum against Union/Cove's pitching staff. Despite the lopsided final score, the game provided valuable experience for Umpqua Valley Christian against quality competition from outside the region. The Monarchs entered the matchup with a balanced 2-1 record, looking to build on early-season success. However, Union/Cove demonstrated why they made the trip to Douglas County, controlling the game from the opening inning and never allowing the home team to establish any rhythm at the plate. The loss drops Umpqua Valley Christian to 2-2 on the young spring season, but there's still plenty of softball ahead to refine their approach. The Monarchs will look to bounce back quickly and use this experience as motivation heading into their next contest. Coach and players alike know that facing strong opponents like Union/Cove will only help prepare them for league play.
