Sutherlin Bulldogs Girls Volleyball 1-3 Douglas

Douglas claimed a 3-1 victory over Sutherlin in Far West League (3A) girls volleyball action Tuesday night in Sutherlin, Oregon, handing the Bulldogs a tough home loss. The visiting Tigers controlled enough sets to pull away from a Sutherlin squad that managed to take one set but could not sustain the momentum needed to turn the match around. The loss drops Sutherlin to 5-14 overall and 4-7 in conference play, a difficult position as the Far West League season begins winding toward its final stretch. Sutherlin did show resilience by claiming a set against a Douglas team that proved difficult to handle across the full match. The Bulldogs will need to find more consistency in their serve-and-pass game and keep pressure on opponents from the first set if they hope to finish the league schedule on a stronger note. Sutherlin returns to action later this week with a chance to pick up a much-needed win before the postseason picture comes fully into focus.
