The bats came alive at just the right time for South Umpqua's baseball team Tuesday afternoon. The Lancers pounded out a season-high 14 runs in a dominant 14-6 non-league victory over North Valley on the road, snapping back from recent struggles in emphatic fashion.

South Umpqua's offensive explosion provided a much-needed boost for a team that entered the contest sitting at .500 with a 3-4 record. The Lancers controlled the game throughout, building comfortable leads that allowed them to play with confidence against their hosts.

The 14-run outburst represents the kind of offensive potential this South Umpqua squad has shown flashes of all season. Getting that many runs across the plate in a road environment speaks well for the team's approach at the plate and ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

With the victory, South Umpqua evens its record at 4-4 heading into the heart of the spring schedule. The Lancers will look to build on this offensive momentum as they prepare for their next outing.
