Sutherlin Bulldogs Baseball 6-9 Myrtle Point

The Bulldogs couldn't quite keep pace in a offensive showcase, dropping a 9-6 decision to Myrtle Point on Saturday afternoon. Despite generating plenty of runs in the non-league baseball contest, Sutherlin came up short on the road against a determined Bobcats squad.
Both teams swung hot bats throughout the afternoon, combining for 15 runs in what turned into an entertaining back-and-forth affair. The Bulldogs showed they can compete offensively, plating six runs against quality pitching, but Myrtle Point's nine-run output proved to be the difference maker.
The loss evens Sutherlin's early season record at 1-1 as they continue to find their rhythm in these early March contests. Head coach and players will take positives from the offensive production while looking to tighten up defensively moving forward.
The Bulldogs return home for their next outing, where they'll look to bounce back and get back above .500. With plenty of season remaining, Saturday's high-scoring affair should provide valuable experience as league play approaches.
