Sutherlin Bulldogs Girls Soccer 1-0 Douglas

A single goal was all Sutherlin needed Tuesday, as the Bulldogs claimed a 1-0 girls soccer victory over Douglas in Far West League (3A) play at home in Sutherlin, Oregon. The narrow win keeps Sutherlin firmly in the league race as the postseason approaches. With the result, the Bulldogs improved to 8-3-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play. Sutherlin entered the match at 7-3-3, looking to build momentum in the back half of the league schedule, and the defense delivered by keeping a clean sheet against the Trojans. Shutting out an opponent is never a small feat at this level of competition, and Tuesday's effort reflected the grit that has defined much of Sutherlin's season. The Bulldogs will need to carry that defensive resolve into their remaining league matches, where every point in the standings carries postseason weight. Sutherlin's next contest will offer another opportunity to solidify their position in the Far West League standings.
