Glide Wildcats Girls Soccer 1-0 Illinois Valley

A single goal was all it took for Glide girls soccer to pick up its first victory of the season, as the Wildcats defeated Illinois Valley 1-0 on the road Tuesday in 2A league play. The win moves Glide, out of Glide, Oregon, to 1-7 on the season and in conference standings. Traveling to Illinois Valley is never an easy task, and a shutout on the road makes the result even more meaningful for a young squad that had been searching for its first league win. Glide's defense held firm throughout the match, preserving the clean sheet and giving the offense just enough support to secure the hard-fought result. The 1-0 final reflects how tight and competitive 2A soccer can be at this stage of the season, with both teams battling for every point in the standings. The Wildcats will look to build on this momentum as the regular season winds down and postseason positioning comes into focus.
