Beau Ramsey pitched eight scoreless innings to lead the UCC Riverhawks to a dramatic 2-1 conference baseball victory over Lane on Monday at Eugene.

Ramsey dominated throughout, allowing just three hits while striking out five batters despite issuing six walks. The junior right-hander kept Lane off the scoreboard for eight frames before Joey Garboden closed out the ninth inning for the save, allowing Lane's only run in the eighth.

The Riverhawks manufactured their offense early, scoring single runs in the third and fifth innings. Trevor Ratliff and Jaxon Marble provided the spark, each reaching base twice and scoring the team's only runs. Aidan Birchard and Caden Kuhnert drove in the runs with timely hitting.

Lane's Griffin Scott matched Ramsey pitch for pitch, throwing eight shutout innings of his own with six strikeouts. The Titans managed just three hits against Ramsey but couldn't capitalize on his six walks until the late rally.

Donnie Morgan led Lane's offensive effort, collecting two of the team's three hits. Austin Takahashi scored Lane's lone run in the eighth inning, but it wasn't enough to overcome the early deficit.

The victory improves UCC to 24-14 overall and keeps the Riverhawks in contention for a strong conference tournament seeding. With the regular season winding down, every conference game carries playoff implications as UCC continues their postseason push.
