Jackson Thomsen's two-RBI performance helped spark a dramatic seven-run seventh inning that carried the UCC Riverhawks to a 9-7 comeback victory over Southwestern Oregon on Friday. The baseball thriller on the road showcased the Riverhawks' resilience after trailing for most of the contest.

UCC entered the seventh inning down 4-2 before exploding for seven runs to take control. Thomsen led the offensive surge, going 2-for-6 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Ben Allen matched Thomsen's production with a 2-for-5 day that included two RBIs, while Shiloh Wilson contributed two hits, two runs, and drew a walk from the leadoff spot.

The pitching staff delivered a stellar performance despite the crooked numbers on the scoreboard. Starter Camden Hartsell worked five innings without allowing an earned run, striking out four. Bayden Morris followed with three scoreless frames, and Josh Jackson closed it out with two strikeouts in the ninth.

Southwestern Oregon's Ayumu Yazawa kept pace offensively, going 4-for-6 with three runs scored, but the Lakers couldn't match UCC's late-game heroics. The Lakers mounted a three-run eighth inning rally that fell just short.

The victory improves the Riverhawks to 14-5 overall as they continue building momentum in non-conference play. UCC will look to carry this clutch hitting into their next contest as the season progresses toward conference competition.
