Mt Hood came to Douglas County looking to knock off a strong UCC squad, but the Riverhawks had other plans Tuesday afternoon. The visiting Saints found themselves overwhelmed early as UCC's baseball team pulled away for a commanding 11-3 non-conference victory at home.

The Riverhawks answered Mt Hood's challenge with authority, building a substantial lead that put the game out of reach well before the final innings. UCC's offensive attack proved too much for the Saints' pitching staff to contain, as the home team collected runs steadily throughout the contest.

The dominant performance showcased the depth and balance that has carried UCC to a strong 17-9 overall record this season. While Mt Hood managed to scratch across three runs, the Riverhawks' consistent pressure at the plate and solid defensive play left little doubt about the outcome.

For UCC, the eight-run margin of victory represents exactly the kind of statement win that builds momentum heading into the stretch run of the season. The Riverhawks demonstrated their ability to control a game from start to finish against quality non-conference competition.

With their record now standing at 17-9, the Riverhawks continue to position themselves well for postseason consideration. UCC will look to carry this offensive momentum into their next outing as they push toward the 20-win plateau that could solidify their tournament hopes.
