Kasey Ogan delivered six innings of shutout softball, but the Riverhawks couldn't break through against Chemeketa pitcher Laney Deloe in a 1-0 conference loss Wednesday at Chemeketa.

Ogan allowed just five hits and struck out one batter while walking only one, keeping UCC in the game until the sixth inning when the Storm pushed across the game's lone run. The junior right-hander has been a steady presence in the circle for the Riverhawks all season.

Offensively, UCC managed six hits but couldn't capitalize on scoring opportunities. Amanda Lloyd led the way with a 2-for-3 performance at designated player, while first baseman Ella Martinez-Bryson and third baseman Rylie Miller each contributed two hits. Center fielder Lexie Gidcumb drew two walks, showing patience at the plate.

Deloe proved to be the difference for Chemeketa, striking out seven Riverhawks hitters while scattering six hits over seven innings. The Storm's Kylie Carapinha scored the game's only run after going 2-for-3 at the plate.

The loss drops UCC to 8-29 overall as the Riverhawks continue conference play. Despite the challenging season record, the team showed fight in this low-scoring affair, with Ogan's pitching performance demonstrating the potential for competitive games down the stretch.

UCC will look to bounce back in their next conference matchup as they aim to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
