The Lancers turned their home diamond into a showcase Monday afternoon, dismantling visiting St. Helens 8-1 in non-league softball action. South Umpqua used a balanced offensive attack to control the game from early innings, building a comfortable lead that never wavered against the Lions.

The victory improves South Umpqua to 3-1 on the young season, showing the kind of consistency that could serve them well as league play approaches. After dropping their season opener, the Lancers have now rattled off three straight wins with increasingly impressive performances.

St. Helens managed just one run against South Umpqua's pitching and defense, struggling to generate sustained offensive pressure throughout the seven-inning contest. The Lancers capitalized on their scoring opportunities, spreading eight runs across multiple innings to put the game away.

With this convincing home victory behind them, South Umpqua looks to carry the momentum forward as they continue building toward league competition. The Lancers will look to extend their winning streak when they return to action later this week.
