Southwestern Oregon's explosive offense proved too much for the Riverhawks to handle Thursday afternoon, as the visitors rolled to a 13-4 softball victory at home in Douglas County.

The Lakers jumped on UCC early with a six-run first inning and never looked back, building a commanding lead that put the game out of reach. Hunter Salausa-Galletes led Southwestern Oregon's balanced attack with a 3-for-4 performance, scoring three runs and driving in two. Faith Hite matched that output at the plate while also crossing home three times.

The Riverhawks showed fight despite the early deficit. Catcher Gracie Mello provided the offensive spark with a 2-for-3 day that included two RBIs, while London O'Brien contributed two hits and scored a run. UCC mounted a three-run rally in the fourth inning to briefly cut into the margin, with Lexie Gidcumb delivering an RBI after working a walk.

Southwestern Oregon pitcher Maggie Young dominated in the circle, limiting the Riverhawks to just six hits while striking out six batters over five complete innings for the win.

The conference loss drops UCC to 8-25 overall as they continue working to build momentum in the final stretch of the season. The Riverhawks will look to bounce back in their next outing as they aim to close out the campaign on a positive note.
