The UCC Riverhawks women's basketball team couldn't complete a late rally at home, falling 78-67 to visiting Bellevue in non-conference action that highlighted areas for growth as the season progresses.

The 11-point deficit marked a disappointing result for the Riverhawks, who entered the contest with an impressive 23-10 overall record. Despite the loss, UCC showed resilience throughout the matchup, keeping pace with a quality Bellevue squad that came ready to compete on the road.

The Riverhawks managed to put up 67 points against a disciplined Bellevue defense, demonstrating the offensive capabilities that have fueled their strong season to date. However, containing the visitors proved challenging as Bellevue consistently found scoring opportunities to build their advantage.

This non-conference setback provides valuable experience against outside competition for a UCC program that has shown remarkable improvement this year. At 23-10, the Riverhawks have already exceeded many preseason expectations and continue to build momentum in what has become a memorable campaign.

The loss, while frustrating, offers important lessons as the team prepares for the stretch run of their schedule. Coach and players alike will undoubtedly use this game as motivation moving forward.

The Riverhawks return to action looking to bounce back and continue their strong season, with their overall record still reflecting the significant progress made by this year's squad.
