Chemeketa provided everything UCC could handle on their home court Tuesday night, but the Riverhawks found a way to escape with a hard-fought 75-70 victory in non-conference women's basketball action.

Facing a determined Storm squad that refused to fold, UCC had to dig deep in the final minutes to secure the win and improve to 23-10 overall. The five-point margin doesn't tell the full story of what was a back-and-forth battle that saw both teams trading baskets throughout the evening.

The Riverhawks' ability to execute in crunch time proved to be the difference, as they managed to answer every Chemeketa challenge down the stretch. Playing on the road against a team with nothing to lose, UCC showed the poise and experience of a squad that has navigated plenty of tough situations this season.

Chemeketa's effort was admirable, keeping pace with the Riverhawks for most of the contest and making UCC earn every possession. The Storm's home-court energy created an atmosphere that tested the visitors' composure, but the Riverhawks responded with the kind of steady play that has characterized their campaign.

With this non-conference victory in the books, UCC continues to build momentum as they prepare for the final stretch of their season. The Riverhawks will look to carry this road warrior mentality into their next challenge as they aim to keep building on their impressive 23-win campaign.
